SSC CGL 2018 – Staff Selection Commission is the requisite agency which conducts the all-important Combined Graduate Level Examination for the recruitment of candidates for various posts in departments mentioned below. It is one of the most important examinations of the country on which the government job aspirants rely a lot. As per the official figures, around 15 Lakh candidates had participated in the SSC CGL Examination conducted in online format in the year 2017. This number is also expected to increase this year and is the expected vacancies this year. It is estimated that the Government is planning to release at least 13000 vacancies this year to fill up seats vacant in various departments. So, sit tight until the official notification is released by the SSC in the month of March 2017.

SSC CGL 2018 Selection Procedure

The SSC follows the following selection procedure in the recruitment of the officers in the various departments. The candidates must check out this part for complete knowledge of the selection process.

·         SSC CGL Tier-1: The Tier 1 of the selection Process is the filtration of candidates through an online examination comprising of 100 questions worth 200 marks. This will be conducted in online format.
·         SSC CGL Tier-2: The second stage of the selection process will be for those who qualify the Tier 1 examination. The second stage will also have an objective examination in the online format for selection of candidates for Tier 3.
·         SSC CGL Tier-3: The candidates qualifying in the Tier 2 examination will then mark their way into the examination hall for Tier 3 examination which will be descriptive in nature. This will mark the end of recruitment process for some posts.
·         SSC CGL Tier-4: This will be a post oriented test for some of it. The test is known as Skill/Computer Test. This test will be conducted for some of the posts for which the candidates will be intimated.
The final result will be announced and the candidates will be allotted their department as per their ranks obtained in the examination. 

SSC CGL 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The SSC demands certain eligibility criterions to be fulfilled by the candidates for opting into the examination. They must fulfil the following eligibility criteria in order to take part in the online examination. The listed eligibility criterions are as follows:

Educational Qualification

·         The candidates should have graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university under the UGC and AICTE in any stream from any college.
·         The candidates must be in possession of all the documents which shows their qualification in the examination.
·         The candidates appearing in the final examination of their graduation are also eligible to fill the application form.

Age

·         The candidates must have their age between 20 and 25 years of age in order to take part in the examination.
·         However, the Government of India provides for the age relaxation to the candidates of the reserved categories. SSC CGL 2018 Application form – Completeinformation

The candidates should note that the SSC will release the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination in the month of March 2018. The application procedure shall commence after some days from the release of official notification. The candidates will have to visit the official website of SSC CGL to fill the online application form. the applicants can be divided into two categories on the basis of their appearance in the examination –
·         Fresher Candidates – These candidates will have to first register themselves using their Name, Email ID, Date of Birth, Phone Number and other relevant details. Only can they Apply for the SSC CGL Examination Application form.
·         Repeat Candidates –They will have to log in using their registration number and password allotted to them at the time of their registration for the first time. if they do not remember the registration number and password, they should retrieve it using their Name, Father’s Name and Date of Birth. After retrieving, use the data to log in again and complete the application form.

Application fee -

The candidates can pay the application form in any form like through Credit Card, Debit Card or through Net Banking. For challan, they need to take the print of the Challan and take it to the nearest bank to get it completed. Application fee details are as follows:
·         For General and OBC Candidates – Rs.100
·         For Women, SC/ST and PwD candidates – No fee

SSC CGL 2018 Exam Centres

The SSC will ask for the choice of candidates for five exam Centres in the application form. the SSC will allot the top priority exam centre to the candidates. The candidates will be able to check the venue of their exam centre in advance before the release of the Admit Card. Candidates can select their exam centre but it will entirely depend on the SSC to allot an exam centre to a candidate. Tier-3 Exam Pattern:

·         The third examination will be descriptive in nature unlike the other two stages and will be conducted offline too.
·         The Candidates will be required to write Essay / PrĂ©cis / Letter / Application Writing etc.
·         The Examination will carry 100 marks and exam duration will be 60 minutes for General Candidates and 80 minutes for “VH” and “Cerebral Palsy” candidates.

SSC CGL 2018 Syllabus

The Candidates appearing for the examination of Combined Graduate Level must check the complete syllabus of the examination. The Syllabus can be divided as according to the levels of  examination into that of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. The Syllabus provides for the understanding of the examination and its level. SSC CGL 2018 Admit Card

The SSC will be releasing the Hall ticket one week before the Online examination of the Particular candidates. However the candidates will be allowed to know the date of his/her examination. they will be able to download the same one week before the date of examination. The following information will be given on the SSC CGL 2018 Admit Card –
·         Name of the candidates
·         Examination roll number
·         Password (Date of Birth)
·         Photograph of the candidate
·         Shift of Examination
·         Address of the examination centre
·         Signature of the candidate
·         Space for examination day procedures
·         Some instructions in the second page.
·         Timing of the examination as well as the date of it.

Note:The candidates will be able to download the Admit Card by visiting the official website of SSC CGL one week before the examination.

SSC CGL 2018 Online Exam Details Tier 1

The Following details must be remembered by the candidates as far as the online exam for Tier 1 is concerned:
·         The SSC CGL Tier 1 examination will be conducted in the online format.
·         The candidates will be provided with the Hall Ticket for the Tier 1 examination which the candidates will be able to download one week from the examination. The candidates must take the Admit card to the examination centre failing which they will NOT be allowed to enter the examination hall.
·         They must also carry one complementary Identity card like Aadhar Card, voter ID, Pan Card, passport etc. to the examination centre along with a Passport size photograph.
·         They should reach the examination centre at least 40 minutes before the commencement of their Shift of examination. Reaching late might lead to chaos and even up to cancellation of Paper.
·         Apart from these documents, they should not carry anything to the examination centre. Pen and rough sheets will be provided to them by the Exam Centre.
·         Upon reaching the Exam Centre, they will be asked to  have a biometric test and other checking of documents after which they will allotted their spot for the examination.
·         They should not log in until they are asked to do so. Any miscreation in the examination can lead to suspension.
·         Complete the examination and submit the Online response sheet. Leave the hall when asked to do so.

SSC CGL 2018 Answer Key Tier 1

The SSC upon completion of the Tier 1 examination in the online format will release the tentative answer sheet/ response sheet of the candidates. They can be downloaded from the official website of SSC by entering the Roll Number, date of examination and date of Birth of the candidates. This will enable the candidates to have a look at their response sheet of the Tier 1 examination. they can check for abnormalities in the response sheet and can they challenge the same using the same portal. For challenging the response sheet, they will have to make a payment to SSC for Rs.100 in online mode.

SSC CGL 2018 Result

The SSC will declare the result for the SSC CGL Tier 1 examination conducted by it after 15 days of releasing of the Tentative Answer key. The candidates can check their result by visiting the official website of SSC and logging into their account using their roll number and password. The candidates who qualify in the Tier 1 examination will then take part in the Tier 2 examination to be conducted later by the SSC.
The SSC will show the scores obtained by the candidates in the examination and while displaying the result, it will also release a cut off score for the same. The candidates who qualify in the Tier 1 examination will then have to fill the confirmation application form by visiting the official website.

SSC CGL 2018 Preparation Tips

The candidates should follow the following general points as per the SSC CGL 2018 Preparation Tips:
·         Know the Syllabus: The candidates aspiring for the SSC CGL Exam must know the syllabus for the exam. Knowing the syllabus helps as much as knowing the enemy in a war does.
